WILLS
Taking care of your loved ones
The absence of a will can cause problems, heartbreak, financial hardship, and unnecessary expense for your family at the very worst possible time. A will is a legal document that expresses your wishes, without a will you die intestate, the state will decide who benefits from your estate.
POWER OF ATTORNEY
Protecting you in life
A lasting power of attorney (LPA) is a legal document that lets you (the ‘donor’) appoint one or more people known as (the attorneys) to make decisions on your behalf.
This gives you more control over what happens to your health and financial matters if you have an accident or an illness and cannot make your own decisions, lack of mental or physical capacity. There are two types of LPA’s; financial matters and health and welfare.
TRUSTS
Protecting your assets
Trusts protect your assets from:
• Divorce settlements
• Creditors/bankruptcy
• Taxation
The strategic use of trusts ensure that your children and grandchildren (blood line planning) can benefit completely from their inheritance, at the same time, protect the family home and assets from being lost to long term care costs.
BUSINESS SUCCESSION
Protecting your business assets
Without a valid will, the deceased's share would be subject to the laws of intestacy and the person who inherits may not be the person you intended.
Our business estate planning is tailor made to suit you and your business, taking the standard planning options available a significant step further.
ADVANCE DECISION
Living will
An advance decision is a legal document that states your right to refuse medical treatment, it lets your family, carers and health care professionals know your wishes if you are unable to communicate those decisions yourself. They are also known as an ‘ADRT’ or’ living will.
